We work with organically grown functional mushrooms with a long history of traditional use, including Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus), Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis), Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), Sun Mushroom (Agaricus blazei), Shiitake (Lentinula edodes), Maitake (Grifola frondosa), Polyporus (Polyporus umbellatus), Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) and King Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus eryngii).

Each product page details the mushrooms, vitamins and minerals in the formula. Where a formula contains vitamins or minerals at a significant level, their authorised health benefits are explained on that page.

The fruiting body is the visible mushroom. The mycelium is the network of filaments from which it grows. Most of our extracts and powders are made from fruiting bodies; our Cordyceps is produced as mycelium in bioreactors, as the species naturally grows on another living organism.

A powder is the whole mushroom, dried and milled, which keeps its natural fibre. An extract is obtained with water and/or alcohol to concentrate characteristic compounds such as beta-glucans or triterpenes. The extraction ratio and composition of each product are shown on its page.

It varies by product. For example, the analysis of Cordyceps sinensis mycelium extract batch 240912 showed 29.58% beta-glucans, and Hericium erinaceus extract batch 241002 showed 52.34%. These figures refer to the batches analysed, not to the whole range or the total weight of a capsule. Beta-glucans are measured using the Megazyme enzymatic method for mushrooms and yeasts in our R&D laboratory, as part of the Hifas Quality System.

We adapt the process to each species: water extraction, hydroalcoholic extraction or a combination of both (dual extraction). The general steps are preparation and milling, controlled extraction, filtration and separation, and concentration and drying, all under GMP. We are also developing water-based and other sustainable extraction processes, such as the one used for Hifas-Lentinan.

We combine in-house cultivation with a network of approved growers audited under the Hifas Quality System. We supply controlled-origin strains from our own strain bank, and every batch is tested at source, after extraction and as a finished product – including microbiological, pesticide, heavy-metal and gluten testing – so each pack can be traced back to its raw material batch.

Our mushrooms are produced under EU organic rules and certified by CRAEGA (the Galician organic regulatory council). For Great Britain, please check the organic statement on each label. Our capsules are made from plant-based HPMC. Most products are suitable for vegans, vegetarians and people with coeliac disease or lactose intolerance – exceptions include Optimum (contains fish collagen) and products containing soya-derived phosphatidylserine. Always check the allergen information on each product page and label. Products are manufactured under GMP. For kosher requirements, please contact our team before purchasing.

Our formulas are the same across markets. Labelling and product information are adapted to the legal requirements of each country, including Great Britain.

Our oral products are food supplements, not medicines. In Great Britain they are sold under the Food Supplements Regulations. They are not authorised to prevent, treat or cure any disease, and they should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Plant-based capsules (our main format), mushroom powders to add to food and drinks, children's syrups, vitamin drops in coconut MCT oil, liquid formulas and gummies. The recommended daily intake of each product is shown on its label.

Unopened capsules: typically 3 years; powders: up to 5 years; syrups: 2 years. Once opened, follow the period shown on the label (usually 2–5 months for capsules and powders, and 40 days for syrups, which must be kept in the fridge). Store in a cool, dry place away from light and heat, and close the lid tightly after each use.

Several formulas contain vitamins and minerals that contribute to the normal function of the immune system: vitamin C (e.g. Mico-Five, Mico-Vir+, Mico-Rei and Hifas-Lentinan), vitamins C and D (Dr. Immune Five, Bio-Defense) and zinc and selenium (Papilozumib, Optimum). See each product page for the exact amounts.

Hifas da Terra invests in research and development and collaborates with universities and research centres. Research results relate to the specific conditions studied and are not used to attribute effects to the products sold in this store.

Hifas-Vitality contains vitamin B12; Sweet Energy gummies contain niacin and pantothenic acid; Mico-Cord and other Mico extracts contain vitamin C. These nutrients contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. If you feel persistently tired, please speak to your doctor.

Our Live Cultures capsules contain Lactobacillus brevis and L. plantarum. Hifas-Microbiota, Bio-Intestin and Hericium Digest are made with Lion's Mane, Shiitake, Oyster and King Oyster mushrooms, which naturally contain dietary fibre.

If you are taking any medication or are under medical supervision, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any food supplement, and give them the full ingredient list of the product. Never stop or change prescribed medication on your own. If you are due to have surgery, tell your healthcare team which supplements you take.

Do not take them if you are allergic to mushrooms or any other ingredient. Mushroom-based food supplements are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor advises otherwise. Adult products are not intended for children; our children's syrups are suitable from age 3. Always read the warnings on each label.

Yes. Our in-house team of biologists, biochemists and pharmacists works on strain selection, bioreactor cultivation, extraction and quality control. We also collaborate with universities and research centres, such as the University of Santiago de Compostela and the University of Vigo, on scientific projects. Research results relate to the specific formulas and conditions studied and do not change the legal status of our products as food supplements.

Yes, the status of each ingredient depends on the species, the part used and the production process. Mushrooms such as Reishi, Lion's Mane, Shiitake, Maitake and Chaga have a history of consumption, and Cordyceps sinensis mycelium was consumed before 1997. In Great Britain, Novel Food status is assessed under the GB framework.

You can combine products, provided you follow the recommended daily intake on each label and check that the combined amounts of vitamins and minerals are appropriate for you. If in doubt, ask our team or a healthcare professional.

Follow the directions on each label. Many of our capsules are taken in the morning before breakfast; if you have a sensitive stomach, you can take them with food.

Take it later the same day if you remember, or simply continue as normal the next day. Do not double the recommended daily intake.

We follow a clean-label approach and use as few additives as possible. Some products contain functional additives such as anti-caking agents (e.g. silicon dioxide or magnesium salts of fatty acids), sweeteners in syrups and gummies, or natural colourings – all listed in the ingredients on each product page.

Capsules have no taste. Powders and opened capsules have an earthy, umami flavour; Reishi is notably bitter, while Lion's Mane is milder. You can mix them into coffee, plant-based drinks, smoothies or soups – add them at the end, without boiling.

No. Our products are stable at room temperature while unopened. Once opened, syrups and liquid formulas must be kept in the fridge (4–8 °C) and used within the period shown on the pack.

You can return unopened products in their original packaging, with the seal intact, within 14 days of delivery. For hygiene and safety reasons, opened products cannot be returned. Contact our Customer Service to arrange a return. If you have questions about how to use a product, our team will be happy to help.
